“It has taken me forty years to do that,” are the words of Pablo Picasso after handing his drawing to a woman that took him presumably a minute or so; a quote that explains the hidden value of art quite the most precisely.
The completion of seemingly a simple artwork is only possible through decades of accumulated experience and wisdom of its creator. At HORI Artspace, we value such precious experiences and potentials of artists which Picasso had thus emphasized.
With the vision of reviving the significance that Korea’s contemporary art holds, HORI Artspace built a nest in Cheongdam-dong of Seoul in 2020, a location bursting with the nation’s upscale culture.
The Opening Exhibition was titled “์ฒญ์ ๋ฏธ๊ฐ(ๆทธ้็พๆ, pronounced Chung-yoo-mi-gam, meaning “The blissful emotional amusement in everyday life“), presenting phenomenal works by Kwon Jinkyu, Kim Whanki, Park Rehyun and Lee Ufan; the four representative artists of Korean modern & contemporary art.
We shall continue to be the space where you can meet the hidden charm of contemporary art in your daily life through various visual art contents.
